Jenna Cahill

Coastal Project Manager

Jenna grew up in rural PEI, where she spent her childhood covered in mud and admiring unsuspecting critters in the ponds and forests near Souris. Her younger self would be delighted to know that she now spends her workdays doing much the same, covered in (only slightly less) mud and awe-struck by PEI’s wild creatures.

After obtaining a bachelor’s degree in biology in 2018, Jenna spent a summer working with Island Nature Trust (INT) as a species-at-risk technician before partnering with INT and UPEI to complete her Master of Science degree which explored the effects of oyster aquaculture on shorebirds.

Since then, Jenna has been fortunate to work on many of INT’s conservation projects. From Piping Plover to Bank Swallow, Land Stewardship, and a brief stint as Farmland Birds Coordinator, she is now managing our Coastal Conservation work.

Jenna loves working outside and is passionate about protecting PEI’s wildlife and wild spaces. When she is not working, you can find her needle-felting tiny plovers, walking in the woods, or digging patio furniture out of a snowbank so she can read on the deck with her dog and many sweaters.
