Dr. Kathy Martin

Dr. Kathy Martin is Professor of Wildlife Ecology at the University of British Columbia and Research Scientist (Emerita) with Environment and Climate Change Canada. She has conducted research on the ecology and conservation status of wildlife in forest, arctic and alpine habitats in the Americas, in particular how birds persist in relation to climate variation. Kathy has served as President of the American Ornithological Society and the Society of Canadian Ornithologists.
Since Kathy moved back to Prince Edward Island, she has become involved in conservation, heritage and nature-based activities. She served on the Forestry Commission to assist the PEI Government to develop an updated forestry policy. Kathy currently serves on the UPEI Board of Governors and the Board of the Glenaladale Heritage Trust.
