Group Representative –

Nature PEI

Barb has had a lifelong interest in nature conservation and education.

She moved to Prince Edward Island from Halifax in 1982 to work in PEI National Park. During her decades long career with Parks Canada, Barb held positions in the fields of interpretation and outreach education, visitor experience, external relations and communications, as well as resource protection. She also managed several major projects designed to protect and present the park’s natural and cultural resources, including the development of interpretive exhibits for the Greenwich area of the park.

Barb has been a longtime supporter of Island Nature Trust and served on the executive from 1983 to 1990, first as Secretary (1983 – 1986) and then as President (1987-1990). She returned to the Board for a second time from 2007 to 2013. She has also been a longtime member of Nature PEI and was on the executive from 2012-2014. Barb is thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to the work of the Trust again as the representative for Nature PEI on the Board. “I am looking forward to working with Island Nature Trust in the next few years and hope to use my experience to increase nature conservation and public education on the importance of natural areas.
