Duncan Sturz

Duncan Sturz is a lawyer with McInnes Cooper, based in Prince Edward Island. He maintains a broad legal practice that includes litigation, health law, business and contractual matters, property transactions, and estate planning. He regularly appears before the courts and administrative tribunals, and is known for his practical, client-focused approach to resolving legal issues.
Duncan holds a J.D. from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University and a B.B.A. from the University of Prince Edward Island. Before beginning his legal career, he worked as an independent business consultant, specializing in research and strategic planning for entrepreneurs, startups, and non-profit organizations. This experience continues to inform his legal work, particularly in understanding the needs and goals of mission-driven organizations.
He is deeply committed to community involvement and has served on the boards of several non-profits across Prince Edward Island. Duncan brings a thoughtful, strategic perspective to board work, grounded in both legal expertise and hands-on experience in the non-profit sector.
Outside of his professional life, Duncan is an avid cyclist, runner, and skier. A two-time Canada Games competitor, he enjoys staying active and exploring the outdoors.
