Ray Brown
Conservation Technician
Ray is an upcoming graduate from the Environmental Studies program at UPEI whose love for nature traces back to childhood, when they’d create fantasy worlds while exploring the outdoors with their brothers. Originally from Ontario, Ray spent six years working in community disability care before deciding it was time for a change of pace. So, they packed up their car (with two dogs in tow) and made the big move across the country to explore a different side of Canada and chase a new adventure on PEI!
These days, Ray’s spare time involves starting more crochet projects than finishing, carrying around a book they never seem to open, and fighting for couch space which is always occupied by their four-legged sidekicks (which has grown by two cats since moving here!).
That sense of curiosity and wonder from their childhood continues to fuel their passion and appreciation for the natural world and is what inspired them to pursue this journey as a Stewardship Technician with Island Nature Trust. Ray is excited to embrace the opportunities ahead and deepen their connection to the natural world, all while striving to make meaningful change.
