Sydney Matthews
Senior Conservation Technician

Originally from Southern Alberta, Sydney spent her childhood and early twenties exploring the prairies and mountains with her family. She found a passion for wildlife and the environment through her years of hiking, camping, and fishing. This passion pushed her to pursue a career in the conservation of wildlife and their habitat.
After attending Lakeland College and receiving a diploma in Wildlife and Fisheries Conservation, she took the plunge to drive across Canada to attend UPEI and further her studies in wildlife conservation. After completing her Bachelor of Wildlife Conservation, she found passion in monitoring species at risk around PEI.
In her free time, you can find Sydney exploring Eastern Canada, trekking through the woods looking for birds and other wildlife to photograph, reading books in her hammock, and walking the beaches looking for treasures.
